About the Role:
I’m an entrepreneur running a sector-focused search to acquire a small/mid-sized company (Health & Wellness / Healthcare services). You’ll sit close to the process—helping map markets, source targets, run outreach, compile data, and turn findings into crisp profiles and investment memos.
What You’ll Do:
Search & Market Mapping
– Build market maps and long-lists of targets using LinkedIn, broker portals, databases (e.g., Apollo/ZoomInfo, PitchBook/CapIQ if available), and industry groups.
– Classify targets by sub-sector, size, location, and fit (revenue/EBITDA, payer mix, service lines).
Outreach & Pipeline Support
– Draft and send personalized founder/broker emails; manage responses and schedule intro calls.
– Maintain the deal CRM (HubSpot/Airtable/Sheets): log touches, stage changes, next actions.
Data Collection & Light Analysis
– Pull and clean company data (web, filings, directories); capture pricing, locations, headcount, and basic financials when available.
– Prepare quick screens: business model, customer base, growth drivers, basic valuation comps, risks.
Presentation & Investment Memos
– Create concise 1-pagers and 10–15 slide investment memos (thesis, market, unit economics, risks/mitigants).
– Summarize calls; organize materials (NDA files, CIM notes) and support pre-diligence checklists.
Basic Expectations
– Quality & speed: draft first-cut profiles within 24–48 hours of assignment; memos iterate quickly.
– Organization: clean naming, version control, and meticulous CRM hygiene—no stale next steps.
– Communication: proactive status updates; flag blockers early; crisp written summaries after calls.
– Professionalism: thoughtful, respectful outreach; pristine grammar and slide craft.
– Confidentiality: strict NDA compliance and discretion with sensitive information.
What You’ll Learn
– How a search fund sources, screens, values, and advances deals.
– Sector nuances in Health & Wellness/Healthcare services (e.g., payer mix, referrals, capacity, LOS).
– Practical memo writing that persuades investors and advisors.
Qualifications
– Current undergrad/graduate student (Finance, Business, Economics, Healthcare Admin, Data/Policy—or similar).
– Strong research chops and comfort with spreadsheets and slides.
– Clear, persuasive writing (emails, 1-pagers, memos).
– Nice to have: healthcare services interest, basic accounting/valuation (revenue, COGS, adj. EBITDA, multiples).
Tools You’ll Use
Google Workspace, Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides, HubSpot or Airtable (CRM), LinkedIn + Sales Navigator, Apollo/ZoomInfo (or similar), DocSend, Canva/Figma (design polish). Experience with PitchBook/CapIQ is a plus.
Time & Compensation
– 10–15 hours/week during the semester (flexible around classes).
– Comp: Hourly or for-credit (open to university credit requirements).
Success Metrics (KPIs)
– 80–120 qualified new targets added per month with complete data fields.
– 25–40 personalized outbound emails/week with >20% reply rate and booked calls.
– 6–10 company 1-pagers/month; 2–4 full investment memos/quarter.
– Zero missed follow-ups; CRM always current (next action + date).
30/60/90 Day Plan
– 30 days: onboard to thesis; ship first market map, target list, and outreach templates.
– 60 days: own a sub-sector pipeline end-to-end; deliver two polished company profiles and one memo.
– 90 days: propose a mini-thesis (micro-niche), run outreach, and present an investment memo to advisors.
How to Apply
