This is an outbound sales role. You will be on the phone every day. If that excites you, keep reading. If it doesn’t, this role isn’t the right fit — and that’s okay.

About the Role

Evolv is a payments technology company that helps businesses eliminate or reduce processing fees and mitigate risk. As an Associate AE, you own the first conversation in every deal: you find business owners, earn their attention, and book qualified consultations for our Account Executives.

This is a booking-and-qualifying role for your first 90 days — not a closing role. You learn to sell by opening, every single day, with daily coaching to make you sharper. Top performers become eligible for promotion to Account Executive in 90 days.

You’ll be trained from day one on NEPQ — a consultative, question-led sales method, not a pitch script — and evaluated at clear checkpoints on Day 5, Day 10, Day 15, and Day 30.

Earning Potential

  • Base salary: $50,000
  • Year 1 OTE: $65,000–$75,000
  • Commission: Uncapped — you earn on every qualified consultation that converts to a closed deal
  • AE promotion eligibility: 90 days

This is a real base with real benefits — not a commission-only churn seat. You get a floor to stand on while you learn, and uncapped upside once you’re producing.

Career Path

Associate AE → Account Executive (90-day eligibility) → Senior Account Executive

Advancement is merit-based, not tenure-based. You move when you’re ready.

What You’ll Do

  • Make outbound calls and send emails to business owners every day
  • Run consultative conversations to understand a business’s payment situation
  • Book qualified consultations for Account Executives — meetings that meet all of our qualification criteria
  • Shadow AE discovery and closing meetings to accelerate your own development
  • Maintain your pipeline in HubSpot and hit daily activity standards
  • Receive daily manager coaching, AI-assisted call reviews, and structured feedback

Who We’re Looking For

We don’t require prior sales experience. We do require the right makeup.

  • You’re a strong communicator — you can hold a conversation, read a room, and get to the point
  • You’re competitive and motivated by measurable outcomes
  • You’ve handled rejection before — in sports, retail, fundraising, anything — and came back for more
  • You’re disciplined enough to show up and execute on the days you don’t feel like it
  • You’re genuinely curious about how businesses work and make money
  • You want a sales career, not a stepping stone to something unrelated

Former college athletes and people from finance, accounting, or analyst backgrounds do well here — but only if you’re making a deliberate move into sales. If your goal is a return-to-finance role in two years, this isn’t the right fit.
