Your future begins here – great benefits, great people. Join us today! The University at Buffalo Foundation (UBF) is searching for an Application Analyst to join our team.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE AND QUALITY ASSURANCE:

  • Maintain, enhance and ensure the quality of application software for UB Foundation, including but not limited to: AccuFund, Real Vision Software (RVI), Caissa, and UB’s Strategic Information Reporting Initiative (SIRI).
  • Utilize tools such as Visual Studio and SSIS to support data-driven applications, streamline data ETL (Extract, Load, Transform) processes, and ensure seamless data flow and integration across applications and systems.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Oracle and SQL Server components such as stored procedures, functions, and views used in ETL workflows.
  • Conduct quality assurance activities to ensure the reliability and efficiency of data.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for reports, procedures, processes, and interfaces.

COLLABORATION AND PROCESS IMPROVEMENT:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to ensure accuracy of data feeds and provide opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Engage with end-users to gather feedback and address user needs.
  • Develop working knowledge of UB Foundation business office operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • A minimum two years of experience (includes internships and relevant projects) working with database operations with the ability to access and understand data in a complex, multi-purpose client/server environment.
  • Experience with SQL database operations relating to Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of ETL development using tools including but not limited to SQL Server, SSIS or other comparable platforms.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical support and usage of ad-hoc query tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Exercises attention to detail with high efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate technical information to non-technical end users.
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum amount of supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage time and prioritize work assignments.
  • Experience developing and maintaining ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) within Visual Studio.

FTE: 1.0
